A Unit of Dicky Ryntathiang Memorial Trust

Bethany School of Nursing

Bethany School of Nursing located at Nongrim Hills, Shillong, with an intake of 30 students per year and is run under the Management of the Dicky Ryntathiang Memorial Trust. The School is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Meghalaya Nursing Council (MNC). The School has its parent hospital at Bethany Hospital, Shillong, which is one of the leading private hospital of the city where the students will be given clinical ‘hands on’ training. The Students will also be provided comprehensive learning in other affiliated hospitals in Shillong and community health care in both urban and rural areas. Presently, this course caters for women only and is a compulsory residential course.

Dicky Ryntathiang Memorial Trust

In memory of (L) Dicky Ryntathiang, the mother of (L) Dr. John L. Sailo Ryntathiang, a trust was established on the 24th October, 2016 known as 'The Dicky Ryntathiang Memorial Trust'.

She was a visionary who aspired to promulgate education to the general masses and especially to the economically backward classes. Her dream was to build schools, colleges and universities. This dream materialised in the establishment of the Bethany School of Nursing.

She retired as the Principal of Mizo Modern School, Shillong

Bethany School of Nursing is a private Institution dedicated to educating students for the diverse opportunities offered as a career in Nursing in India and Overseas.

 

Our Objectives

To prepare students to become competent nurses and midwives in providing preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative services.

To help students apply relevant knowledge from nursing and other disciplines in planning and in carrying out safe nursing care activities.

To inculcate in students a sense of commitment and fulfillment as a citizen and as a prospective member of the profession in order to uphold the dignity of the profession.

To teach the students the practice of compassion in the learning environment.

To encourage students to communicate effectively with patients and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
